The world of paper crafts is a fun and exciting world and one that provides a list of opportunities. So many things can be made out of paper and today, you will learn how to make a paper plane! However, this is not just an ordinary paper plane but one that soars high and also travel far when launched! So, with that said, let’s get started.

The first thing we need to take a look at is what materials you will need. The really good things about this project is that it does not require very much. Not only that but you will
probably already have the materials at hand or in your house!

Materials Needed To Make A Plane In Paper:

Materials Needed For Your Paper Plane:

1. 1 single sheet of paper (A4 or Letter size)
2. A flat surface
3. Your hands

There you go, not much at all!

Now that you have your materials at hand and are ready to start, let’s continue with the next step.

How To Make A Plane In Paper – Step By Step:

Step 1:

The first thing you need to do is simply prepare your paper.
The preparation is very simple and all you need to do is lay the piece of paper on a flat surface.
You need to then ensure that your piece of paper is in the orientation of ‘Portrait’. This simply means that the paper should be vertical, so that it is taller that it is wide.

Once you have your paper in ‘Portrait’ orientation, you are ready to move onto the next step.

Step 2:

For the next step, you will need to fold your piece of paper in half. This should be done vertically.
Then take the left side of the paper and fold it over to the right side. At this point, it is important to make sure that the edges all align perfectly before you actually crease the fold down the middle.

Once you are happy with the alignment of your edges and you have created a crease down the middle, you can move on to step 3.

Step 3:

Step 3 is simply unfolding your piece of paper. Simply open up your folded piece of paper and ensure that it is once again laying flat, with a crease down the centre.

Step 4:

In step 4, you will need to fold the top corners. In order to do this, simply take the top right corner and then fold it towards the crease in the centre. As a result, this should then form the shape of a triangle at the top of the page. Once you have successfully completed the top right corner, repeat the exact same process with the top left corner.

Step 5:

At this stage, you should now have two triangles at the top of your paper. As a result, they should form a diamond like shape. Now, take the bottom point of the diamond and fold it upwards so that the tip of the diamond meets with where the two points of the triangles meet at the top.

Step 6:

As in step 4, you will now need to take each new top corner (as formed in step 5) and then fold them towards your centre crease.

Step 7:

In step 7, you will now need to take what is your bottom point (from in step 6). Then fold it upwards so that its tip meets with where your two triangles’ points meet at the top.

Step 8:

It is now time to fold your paper in half, this should be done along the original crease. At this stage, the triangular folds should be on the outside.

Step 9:

The final stage is to create the wings. This can be achieved by folding down both the top and bottom edges, which will form the wings of the plane. Please Note: It is important to make sure that both wings are even.

That’s it, congratulations you have just successfully made a paper plane. The text step is to give your plane a test flight!

The best way to launch your plane is to hold the plane in the centre and launch the plane applying a gentle but also a firm throw. Hopefully, it will soar high and far!

As with anything, practice makes perfect. So, if your first planes do not fly as well as you might have hoped, keep going! Try making a few more, with minor adjustments to your folds and also to the way your throw your plane. As a result, you will perfect your plane so it flies just the way you want it too!
